Nancy Cartwright took birth in Dayton, Ohio in the family of Miriam and Frank Cartwright. She joined Kettering Fairmont High School and graduated from the same. Cartwright next joined Ohio University. She got transferred to UCLA and received a degree in theatre. She was Daws Butler’s student and has mentioned Butler as her mentor and friend.

Cartwright voices Bart Simpson on ‘The Simspons’ and is a part of series’ star cast since 1987. Actually, she auditioned for the role of Lisa but Matt Groening asked her to try for the part of Bart. Upon hearing her voice, she was elected for the role of Bart Simpson on ‘The Simpsons’. She also gave her voice to Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders, Ralph Wiggum, Kearney and Database. As of now, she’s earning $400, 000 per episode of ‘The Simpsons’, although she joined on just $30,000.

‘The Simpsons’ gave a quick start to her career and she got innumerous projects after it. Most notable, she landed her voice to ‘Kim Possible’ as Rufus, ‘Rugrats’ as Chuckie Finster, ‘All Grown Up!’, ‘The Replacements’, ‘Richie Rich’, ‘Goof Troop’, ‘Animaniacs’, ‘Pinky and the Brain’, ‘My Little Pony’, ‘The Critic’, ‘God, The Devil and Bob’, ‘Mike, Lu & Og’, ‘Pound Puppies’, ‘The Snorks’, ‘Galaxy High’ and ‘Timberwolf’. On the hit syndicated TV show ‘Wayside’, Nancy Cartwright portrayed four characters such as Mrs. Jewls, Dana, and Sammy, the deceased rat.

Cartwright has also made appearances on camera in numerous television series and movies. Being precise includes the names of ‘Fame’, ‘Empty Nest’, ‘Cheers’, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’, ‘Twilight Zone: The Movie’, ‘Flesh + Blood’, and ‘Godzilla’. He appeared as the leading character in the TV movie ‘Marian Rose White’. In the sixth season of ‘24′, Cartwright appeared as Jeannie Tyler.

Cartwright has written autobiography, named ‘My Life as a Ten-Year-Old Boy’, offers a behind-the-scenes view at the phenomenon of The Simpsons. A stage show, based on this book, was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004.

In 1992, Cartwright earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice over Performance for her performance on ‘The Simpsons’ as Bart Simpson. She got an Annie Award for ‘Outstanding Voice Acting in the Field of Animation’. The Northridge, California Chamber of Commerce honored her with the ceremonial title of ‘Honorary Mayor’.

Nancy Cartwright married writer Warren Murphy in 1988 and has two children with him. They split up in 2005.

She joined Church of Scientology in 1989 and became a Clear on October 1, 1991. In 2007, she donated $10 million to the organization so was awarded Scientology’s Patron Laureate Award.

Cartwright also supports many nonprofit organizations, such as Famous Fone Friends, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and The Way to Happiness Foundation (Scientology-run). She’s the co-founder of Happy House, a non profit organization. In 2007, Nancy Cartwright got the Make-a-Wish Foundations’ Wish Icon Award for her support and commitment towards organizations’ missions. The lady has an interest in stock car racing and ‘The Kellys’, animated series launched by her, was greatly inspired from racing.
